The Department of Automobile Engineering was established in the year 2012. The department has well-qualified and experienced faculty and staff members of proven ability and administrative skills. It has well equipped state-of-the-art laboratories that cater to the needs of the students. The Department is actively engaged in teaching and research in the areas of Automobile Engineering and related areas. The students are trained in all the fundamentals of automotive engineering with design and analytical skills, practical hands on experience on systems of automotive vehicle technology, giving them ample training and confidence in knowledge, skills and problem solving abilities in automotive engineering. Field visits and internships add value to their practical appreciation of industry practices and problem solving experience. Project work enhances student’s capability to apply knowledge to solve real-time industry problems. Student technical symposiums and paper presentation contests enhances their creativity and innovation and application of new ideas and concepts. Interaction with industry experts develops students’ professional attributes.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering was established in the year 2001. “Biomedical Engineering" is an application of all classical 'engineering principles' to solve clinical problems in medical and surgery. Since then, the department has been actively engaged in diversified research and teaching. Its main objective is to provide a knowledge-based, timely, cost effective and high quality service to clinicians in a professional and responsible manner, in order to improve and enhance patient care by supporting all aspects of care related technology. The students of our department make a visit periodically to various departments of some medical institutions, and get a deep knowledge about the existing medical devices and instruments. Further, the students carry out in-plant training at prestigious medical industry/institutions, located at various part of India, during their vacation.

This program combines the academic and practical exposure required to pursue a career in the bio-medical field. Modules of this program train the student to plan, design, install, operate, and maintain complex systems that help medical practitioners in diagnosis and treatment of varied diseases. The objectives of this program is to understand anatomy and physiology of human, to study principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment used in diagnosis and treatment, to gain knowledge in assessment and evaluation of various diseases, to design and deliver technology to assist people with disabilities, etc.

The Department has been maintaining an active interaction with the industries particularly with the Computer Society of India. The students of the Department have brought out quite number of innovative projects. The software team of the Department has made laudable contribution by developing software for campus management. Many of the students are well placed in leading software companies such as TCS, Infosys, Satyam, Polaris etc.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2005. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a continuously evolving subject. As technology has advanced, so have the challenges facing the modern engineer. A silicon chip containing over 100 million transistors in an area no larger than a postage stamp is yesterday's news. EEE is a subject that naturally partners with other disciplines to open whole new engineering avenues. Examples include Mechatronics - with Mechanical Engineering, Bio-medical Sciences-with Medicine and Avionics-with Aeronautics. The EEE Department prepares students in this field using new-age information and computer-intensive technologies.

In EEE, there is growing awareness that the future training and education of electrical engineers in the industry needs to be in the area of highly efficient, industry-relevant skills formation, to enable frequent and rapid deployment of professional skills in new areas. As a step in this direction, the postgraduate program in Embedded System Technologies was started in the year 2012-2013 with an intake of 18. This is a 2-year master’s degree course in engineering offered on a semester pattern by the affiliating Anna University Chennai. This course will provide a platform for the budding engineers and graduates to pay more attention over Research and Development. Embedded revolution has begun to creep into every aspect of modern life. It has begun to transform the shape and form of the technological society forever right from microchip devices to futuristic software solutions for hand-held units.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2005. Mechanical engineers require a solid understanding of key concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, energy and manufacturing. They use these principles in the design and analysis of automobiles, aircraft, heating and cooling systems, buildings and bridges, industrial equipment & machinery, and many more. This B.E Mechanical Engineering course curriculum is based on Anna University, Chennai and examinations are conducted on semester basis.

The B.E in Mechanical Engineering is a comprehensive degree program. The goal of the mechanical engineering curriculum is to create a flexible undergraduate educational experience in design, mathematics, modeling, computing, management, engineering science, humanities, social sciences and fine arts. Principal study topics include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics & heat transfer, solid mechanics, materials engineering, manufacturing, energy systems, dynamics & control Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and others. This broad and flexible program allows students to customize their programs to meet their objectives and particular career goals. Traditional students can prepare for technological careers in industry, graduate school or management. The Department of Petroleum Engineering was established in the year 2005 with the objective to fulfill the growing demand of well qualified petroleum engineers in the world. Right from its inception, the Department has steadily grown in all spheres in terms of:

1.Student strength, physical infrastructure, number of labs – subject wise, as per the up gradations introduced by AICTE in the recent times and progressive changes in syllabi of Anna University and Anna University of Technology, Chennai.

2. Brilliant faculty strengthened through qualification improvement programs, human resources in the form of trained supporting staff, all round quality development programs and operating systems for improving upon the functional effectiveness in the department.

3. The Department strives to develop long term relationships with industries and market the student’s talents effectively. The students are thus provided high level ‘Leads and Pathways’ that enable them to gain access to a broad range of ‘high potential’ and ‘hi-tech’ career opportunities.

4. Central and department library, organization and establishment of in – house maintenance wing and its training.
Employment opportunities are vast and exist in the private, public sector and foreign oil companies; technical service providers, tertiary sectors like insurance, IT, Banking, Business Advisory and Consulting; Associated Industries like Petrochemical, Paints and Dye and in Overseas Countries like in ME, SE Asia, China, Russia and CIS countries. Organizations in which the graduates get absorbed are Reliance Industries Ltd., ONGC, Schlumberger, Shell, Gas Authority of India Ltd., British Gas, OIL, Halliburton Services, Essar Oil, GSPC, Cairn Energy, IOCL, Baker Hughes, Reliance Energy, NIKO Resources, GEOENPRO, MECOM Ltd., etc.

In addition to above, many service providing companies are working in India and are located in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Rajahmundry, etc. There is much more scope for these petroleum engineers to get absorbed not only in India, USA, Russia, Australia, UK, Malaysia, Indonesia but also in many Gulf countries.
